26.07.2026: Homecoming update:
Published Homecoming.
I returned home from Japan - a couple weeks ago actually - and this is a summary of the latter half of my adventures there this year.
It also contains some rather unrefined thoughts that have arosen during the travels and after it.
There's also some info on some things you can be looking forwards to in the near future.

Feels like I should have made something more special for the occasion...
20.06.2026: Return to the Land of Gods update:
Published Midsummer Letter - 20th of of June 2026 - Return to the Land of Gods.
I've returned to Japan and while I haven't yet had the time to do all that much, it has been both very fun and insightful.
I feel like there are certain things I lost the track of over the course of this project, and returning here has clarified them to me again.
It has been really cool and interesting to visit new places and see some modern day youkai culture in action.
The site has reached 183 000 visitor. Feels like these milestone come faster and faster.
06.09.2026: Moving in and Out of History update:
Published A Youkai History of Touhou Project
This is the most extensively researched text of the Archive so far, and I hope it does good job at contextualizing this history of youkai and broader culture surrounding them for fans of Touhou.
I think this is one of the more broadest introductions on history of youkai in English language.
There are some which are certainly longer and go into more depth on particular topics, but none which I have read have quite the same kind of scope as this one.
The second thing of note is probably starting at your face right now, that is the new index page.
As you have read, this marks the start of a large reconstruction process which I have given myself the permission to really take my time with.
